Legends in the Game: Killah Priest
Killah Priest is one of the most notable Wu-Tang affiliates, and has really made a name for himself and has a very strong following of his own. After making a name for himself with his own song, "B.I.B.L.E.", on GZA's classic Liquid Swords album, Priest built a cult following by dropping albums with the Sunz of Man and appearing on various Wu-related projects, before dropping his solo album, Heavy Mental, in 1998. With a style of lyricism that incorporates spirituality, story telling, and street consciousness, Priest has dropped knowledge throughout his career on his albums View From Masada, Priesthood, and Black August (and Black August Revisited), as well as alongside Tragedy Khadafi, Timbo King, and Hell Razah on the Black Market Militia album.
In 2007, Killah Priest plans to drop the much anticipated album, The Offering. Late last year, he dropped The Prelude to The Offering Mixtape with J-Ronin to hold his fans down with new music and introduce potential new fans to his classics. Check out his journal on HipHopGame, and peep a few of my favorite tracks:
